Walking - Wear the Right Shoes! By James Emery Vigh of profbruno.com One of my favorite hobbies during good weather is walking. I do a lot of it in the Cleveland Metroparks especially on the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath. The other day, I was on one of these towpath trail sections, and I saw two girls walking towards me from the other direction. As they came closer, I noticed that one of them was wearing a fashionable version of "flip flops". At least they LOOKED like "flip flops" - they may have been some kind of sandal. This, to me, is an absolutely crazy thing to do if you are going to do any kind of distance walking at all. For goodness sakes, if you love to walk as an exercise, put something on your feet that is appropriate and healthy for your feet. You can either walk healthy or you can walk fashionably. If fashion is more important to you, get another hobby. You're going to mess up your feet big time.
