Walking - Boston Station
By James Emery Vigh of profbruno.com
The Ohio and Erie Canal tow path is a great place to either walk, jog, or ride a bike. One of the coolest places along the towpath is Boston Station, located in Boston Township. This section of the trail ends up at Peninsula Station about 2.5 miles away. There is a good sized parking lot and there are restroom facilities. Boston Store is also located there, and across the street there are a few small stores including an ice cream shop. The trail itself starts off with a great view of the Cuyahoga River, then winds its way through relatively open country underneath a couple of major high-rise highway bridges. At the bottom of the last bridge, the river comes briefly in view again. The canal itself, largely non-existent in this area comes to life for a few hundred yards. I call this the "bayou section" because of the numerous trees growing out of the water. After the "bayou", the river makes another brief but dramatic appearance where the dirt and blacktop tow path turns into a boardwalk for about a quarter of a mile. The rest of the tow path is in deep woods. It features a railroad tunnel, a couple of canal locks, and some great views of the river that now winds its way in and out of view. The only bad thing here is that the river had to be re-directed in one place because of the danger the river posed to the tow path during flood stage - this was one of the more spectacularly scenic areas before this happened. This section of the tow path ends at Peninsula Station where there is more dramatic scenery. Lots of trees. Lots of water. Some spectacular scenery. This section of the tow path ranks up there with the best.

I like what it says, however - I was not aware of where this location was. By the title I assumed it was about Boston, Massachusetts.
