Turn Your Dreams Into Reality Part 2 - Finding the "What"
By James Emery Vigh of profbruno.com
Ok, so you have this dream - let's say it's to own a distinctive looking home with a great view on a lake and a lanai. You've always wanted an authentic Italian outdoor kitchen complete with pizza oven. You want an absolute killer-looking resort style backyard. Your current financial situation however precludes that from happening anytime soon, and you don't make anywhere near enough money at your job. So, do you decide that this is an unattainable dream? Dreams, I believe, help keep us alive. ACTING on a dream, makes us FEEL alive. Acting on something means to actually DO something - but what? It's clear in the above scenario that what you are currently doing won't cut it. That means that you will have to do something else. You will have to find out what that "what" is. How? Ask yourself what you're good at. Can you draw, write, or teach? Whatever it is - find out what it is. What are you passionate about - I mean REALLY passionate? Can this passion be translated into a business? What do you have a talent for that you would absolutely love to do for a living if you just only had a chance? For many of us, this actually seems like a "dream within a dream". I have a dream to do this something so that I can live this other dream. Don't look at it that way. Look at it as a means to an end. So you ask yourself all of these questions and you determine that you've always had a talent for drawing and designing stuff. Here now is that first "action" step. Start doing research on the kinds of businesses that you can start that features these talents. Then ask yourself another question: What do you bring to the table that might be considered to be unique or distinctive? Take your time with this and give it some thought. There's a long way to go yet but you've started ACTING instead of just dreaming. You're starting to live instead of just breathing.

I have read a number of self-help books over my many years of different occupations. Some of the oldies are still relevent today. One is, "You can If You Think You Can", by Norman Vincent Peale. Good intel. Frederick
