NFL Training Camps

One of the coolest things I've done this summer is to attend a couple of training sessions at the Cleveland Browns training camp. I know,I know, you have to really like football to do something like this. But you know what, it's free, and you get to see and even meet the players close-up. Now, I love football, and I love my Browns, but sometimes it's hard at one of these things to know exactly what it is that you are looking at. Most of the drills are obvious, but when they get to the 7 on 7s (offense vs defense) you can't always tell what the coaches would consider to be a success. The funniest moments were during pass rushing drills. There is a policy that penalizes pass rushers during these drills for being offsides. Offenders must run a lap around the field. It was funny to see Sean Rogers waddle around the field to the cheers of the fans and how he interacted with us during his little trip. If you like football, and if you've never been to one of these things, consider attending a training camp if you're not too far away from one. It's a nice way to spend a couple of hours.
